Tax Sale

Real estate property with delinquent taxes will be offered at the annual Tax Sale on the fourth Monday in August. Properties qualify for sale if they owe at least two years on May first. After that date, all delinquent taxes must be paid to remove the property from the sale.

2026 Delinquent Land List will be published in the Daily Events 7/23, 7/30, & 8/6

Dates to Remember:
January 1st Unpaid taxes are considered delinquent. Late fees and interest apply.
March Properties owing two or more years are eligible for tax sale. Collector's staff begins researching properties and attempting to contact property owners.
April Notice of Impending Sale mailed to owner and address on file.
April 30th Last day to pay oldest years only.
May 1st After this date, any property that owes two or more years will be offered at the auction unless all taxes are paid prior to sale. Title Search fee applied.
May Property information available on www.CivicSource.com
July 1st Certified Funds only -- cash or cashier check accepted. No business/personal checks, cards, or money orders. Online payments prohibited. Advertisement fee applied.
July Final Notice of Impending Sale mailed to all parties identified by title search as holding a lien, judgment, or legal interest in the property.
End of July The list of qualifying properties will be advertised in the Daily Events and available on this website at least five weeks prior to the sale.
August Bidder Registration is open from August 1 through the Thursday before sale.
Friday before Sale Last day to pay taxes before auction.
Fourth Monday in August Sale held in Room 212 of the Historic County Courthouse at 10 a.m.
