Domestic Violence


The Attorneys in the Domestic Violence Unit handle cases involving Domestic Violence.  They work directly with the Greene County Family Justice Center.  The Domestic Violence Unit attorneys are:

Emily first joined the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in August of 2007.   She received her undergraduate degree from Drury University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Law.  Prior to becoming a licensed attorney, Emily worked in our office as a Rule 13 Intern and also with the Missouri Attorney General’s Office.  Emily has experience in the General Crimes, Persons, and Major Crimes Units.  During her time as an Assistant Prosecutor, Emily has handled traffic offenses, bad check cases, domestic assaults, sex offenses, felony assaults, robberies, and homicides.  She also prosecutes serious vehicular offenses resulting in injury or fatality.  From 2012 through 2015, Emily was in private practice defending municipalities and government officials in federal civil litigation.  Upon her return to the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, she had a special assignment relating to reduction of the local jail population.  As the supervisor of the General Crimes Unit, she focuses on recruiting and developing new Assistant Prosecutors, while also handling a homicide caseload.

Dara joined the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office in January of 2017.  She received her undergraduate degree from Missouri State University with degrees in Business Administration and Psychology.  She then received her Juris Doctor with honors from Drake University Law School where she also earned a Criminal Law Certificate.  During law school, Dara interned at the United States Attorney’s Office, Polk County Prosecutor’s Office, and Drake Legal Criminal Defense Clinic.  She received the Academic Achievement Award for Criminal Motions Practicum, and she was also a member of Drake’s mock trial and negotiations team.  Upon graduation, Dara worked at the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office in St. Louis County defending indigent clients.

John joined the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office in August of 2018. He received a B.A. in English from Rockhurst University in Kansas City in 2015. He then received a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law in 2018. While in law school, he worked at the United States Attorney’s Office – Western District and the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, and participated in both the Family Violence and Prosecution Clinics at the University of Missouri School of Law.

Cat joined the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office in August 2019. She graduated from the University of Missouri in 2016 with a Bachelor of Journalism degree in Strategic Communication and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She received her Juris Doctor with a concentration in Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri School of Law in 2019. During law school, Cat served as Vice-President and President of OutLaw, and was a member of the Diversity Committee. She also interned with the Jackson County, Missouri, Prosecutor’s Office, and served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Patricia Breckenridge of the Missouri Supreme Court. Cat also participated in the Criminal Prosecution Clinic, Veteran’s Clinic, and Innocence Clinic during law school.

Nicholas joined the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office in August of 2020. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He received his Juris Doctor, with Cum Laude honors, from the University of Missouri School of Law in 2020. While in law school, Nicholas interned with the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, externed with the United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, and participated in the MU Criminal Prosecution Clinic through the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Jacqueline joined the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office in April 2021. She graduated with cum laude honors from the University of California Los Angeles in 2016 with a degree in Anthropology. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri of Law in 2020. During law school, Jacqueline participated in the Criminal Prosecution Clinic, and travelled to South Africa to study comparative criminal justice systems. In addition, Jacqueline worked as a law clerk for a TGH Litigation, a firm specializing in employment discrimination and civil rights. In her final year of law school, Jacqueline served as the Chair of the Board of Advocates, and the Regional President of the Hispanic National Bar Association. Upon graduation, she was inducted into the Order of Barristers, a national honorary organization which recognizes students who excel in oral advocacy and professionalism.
