Domestic Violence


The Attorneys in the Domestic Violence Unit handle cases involving Domestic Violence.  They work directly with the Greene County Family Justice Center.  The Domestic Violence Unit attorneys are:

Emily first joined the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in August of 2007.   She received her undergraduate degree from Drury University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Law.  Prior to becoming a licensed attorney, Emily worked in our office as a Rule 13 Intern and also with the Missouri Attorney General’s Office.  During her time as an Assistant Prosecutor, Emily has handled traffic offenses, domestic assaults, sex offenses, felony assaults, robberies, and homicides. From 2012 through 2015, Emily was in private practice defending municipalities and government officials in federal civil litigation.  Upon her return to the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, she had a special assignment relating to reduction of the local jail population.  She is currently on the leadership committee for the Greene County Family Justice Center and the Board of Directors for Harmony House.

Justin joined the Green County Prosecutor’s Office in August of 2023. Justin was born and raised in rural northwest Missouri and received his undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of Missouri—Kansas City in 2007. In 2010, he earned his law degree from Drake University School of Law in Des Moines, Iowa, where he interned with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa and the Dallas County, Iowa, Attorney’s Office. After law school, Justin established his own practice, representing clients in diverse legal matters including criminal defense, family law, and juvenile law. In 2016, he was sworn-in as a prosecutor for the Warren County, Iowa, Attorney’s Office, where he successfully litigated hundreds of cases, several of which he tried before juries as lead counsel. Justin served as a United States Probation Officer for the Southern District of Iowa from 2020 until 2023 when he returned to Missouri and criminal prosecution as a Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.

Jaycee joined the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office in August of 2021. She grew up in Southwest Missouri, and in December 2018, Jaycee graduated Summa Cum Laude from Missouri Southern State University with a degree in Criminal Justice Administration. In July 2021, she received her Juris Doctorate from Baylor University School of Law, graduating Cum Laude. While in law school, Jaycee served on the Baylor Barrister Society; participated in National Moot Court and Mock Trial teams; completed an externship with the Honorable Jeffrey Masnke, Magistrate Judge for the Western District of Texas; and interned at Parmele Law Firm in Springfield

Sheri joined the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office in August of 2021. She grew up in Southwest Missouri and was eager to move back home to practice law. She graduated from the University of Missouri in 2017 with a degree in Communication. Sheri received her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law in May of 2021 where she graduated with a criminal concentration. While in law school, she participated in the Criminal Prosecution Clinic through the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and interned for the Missouri State Public Defender. Upon graduation, Sheri was the recipient of the Edward H. Hunvald Student Prize in Criminal Justice, an award given to the student who shows the most commitment to understanding and improving the criminal justice system
