Missouri law gives victims the right to receive restitution after the defendant is convicted under certain circumstances. Whenever possible, we will request the Court to order the defendant to pay restitution. To do so, we need you to provide a victim impact statement with restitution information to our office so we know how much restitution is owed.
The collection of restitution is an important part of the criminal justice process. One of our primary goals is to ensure that crime victims have been properly compensated for their loss when appropriate. If you have suffered injury or property loss as a result of criminal activity and charges have been filed, please take a moment to fill out and send in the Victim Impact Statement below so that we can include restitution when appropriate.
